Description
Westminster Abbey has been the setting for the coronation of every English and British monarch since 1066. Founded in the Anglo-Saxon era, most of the current church dates to the reign of Henry III. As well as coronations, the Abbey has hosted 16 royal weddings, including that of Prince William the Prince of Wales and his wife Catherine, and is the final resting place for famous Britons including Sir Isaac Newton, Stephen Hawking and the Unknown Warrior. The Coronation Chair is kept there, which has been used in the ancient ceremony for over 700 years. STOCKSHOTS
