Description
Around 60 pilgrims reach the outskirts of the capital Juba after walking most of the way from the central town of Rumbek -a journey of some 400 kilometers (250 miles). Pope Francis arrives on Friday for a three-day visit to South Sudan, the first by any pope since the predominantly Christian nation split from Muslim-majority Sudan in 2011. Pope Francis will visit South Sudan from 3rd to 4th February 2023 before returning to the Vatican.
