Gerald Darmanin pays tribute to Prefect Claude Erignac, "a good man who worked tirelessly for peace and reconciliation," on the very spot where he was murdered in Ajaccio 25 years ago. The French Interior Minister had been forced to cancel his last visits to Corsica against a backdrop of tensions surrounding the still detained members of the commando responsible for the assassination.
