"We must drastically change the way we do business," says Toyota's chief executive-designate Koji Sato, as the Japanese carmaker shifts focus to producing electric vehicles. Sato, 53, is set to officially take charge at the world's top-selling automaker on April 1, replacing third-generation chief executive Akio Toyoda. Toyota pioneered hybrid cars, but some critics say it has been slow to make the transition to battery-powered engines even as demand has soared for low-emission automobiles.
