Description
A new artwork by acclaimed street artist Banksy appears in the English seaside town of Margate on Valentine's Day, only to have its moveable elements swiftly taken away by people claiming to be council workers from Thanet District Council.
"Valentine’s Day Mascara" mural appears to talk about domestic abuse, showing a woman with a black eye putting a man's body in a chest freezer. At midday workers removed the freezer and other elements which made up the artwork. But some bystanders express skepticism: "The more it went on, the more it felt like it was part of the piece and perhaps that, you know, Banksy intended that all along" says local resident Laura Holden. Thanet District Council did not immediately respond to requests for comment. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
