Description
Thousands rally in Tbilisi, the Georgian capital, in a show of support for Ukraine on the first anniversary of the Russian invasion.
According to an AFP reporter, some 30,000 people took to the streets to mark the occasion, as well as to support Georgia's accession to the European Union. For Giorgi Nebieridze, one of those demonstrating, "it is quite simple to determine who is right and who is wrong". "One nation is invading another", he says recalling that Russia "took control of part of our land" in the five-day war in 2008. Earlier in the day, President Salome Zurabishvili lamented the "neutral" position of the Georgian government towards the conflict in Ukraine. Zurabishvili called it "unbelievable coming from a nation that has gone through the same suffering many times." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
