Description
Striking railway workers join thousands of protesters at a rally in Athens to release black balloons into the sky in anger and grief as widespread outrage grows across Greece over the country's worst rail disaster that killed 57 people. The demonstrators number in the thousands, according to police, after calls by students, rail workers and public sector employees as train and metro services were paralysed by strike action. Syriza MP Theano Fotiou calls for greater government accountability over the incident, and says that Greece has "a duty" towards the victims" "to shed light for the people to learn exactly what happened".
