Swedish humanitarian organisations release a survey suggesting that hunger is experienced in one in eight single-parent households with below average income. "The figures prove what we have been seeing in our organisations now for a long time", says Johanna Saunders, an expert on social issues at the Swedish Red Cross. "We are doing much more work when it comes to fulfilling the basic humanitarian needs of people in Sweden - we are handing out food bags, we are serving kids breakfast at schools", she adds.
