In an effort to reclaim copyright and consent, San Francisco artists are suing the AI company Stability AI to remove their artwork from its AI training models. Artists say that the AI, which can produce art replicas, uses their work without getting proper copy, credit or consent. "It's surprising to me because the legality of these generative AI media is still not set," says Karla Ortiz, a painter in San Francisco and a plaintiff in the class action lawsuit.
