French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne says a meeting with 8 of the country's main trade unions "marks an important step", despite the unions calling the discussion a "failure". It was hoped the meeting could ease tensions over the government's contested pension reform bill. Borne says she does not "envisage making progress" without the unions. SOUNDBITE
