File images of the 2017 May Day rally, being held by the Russian Communist Party in central Moscow, republished as Russia's main labour union announces the cancellation of the annual event on May 1 2023. The Russian Federation of Independent Trade Unions has blamed the cancellation on a high level of terrorist threat, with Moscow having increased its rhetoric around the domestic dangers faced since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine.
