World Health Organisation (WHO) Director General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus inaugurates a mRNA Technology Hub, in Cape Town, saying the program would help give access to vaccines for various diseases, “affecting lower and middle income countries for which there are either no vaccines or the vaccines are insufficient.” Set up with WHO support, the Cape Town project is run by South African bio-pharmaceutical company Biovac, biotechnology firm Afrigen and the South African Medical Research Council.
