A Chinese navy warship shadows a Philippine Coast Guard vessel patrolling the Spratly Islands in the disputed South China Sea. The Philippine vessel, which was carrying journalists including from AFP, was passing through the vicinity waters of China-occupied Subi Reef when it was radio-challenged and shadowed by the Chinese naval ship as close as 730 meters. Upon arrival at Whitsun reef, which Manila claims as part of its exclusive economic zone, more than a hundred vessels identified by the Philippine coastguard as Chinese were parked.
