Description
Wrexham football club fans gather in the town centre, waving flags and chanting as the team parade on an open-topped bus to celebrate their promotion to the football league. One of the club's owners, the actor Ryan Reynolds, is seen on one of the parade buses. "The buzz of the town is amazing" says Esther Bentley, one of those on the streets, "it's made such a difference to the town". "I've been following them for over 50 years" explains Stephen Hughes, "and I think I've only seen four promotions in that time". The parade comes after Wrexham were promoted to the English Football League after 15 years in the National League, a progression attributed to the investment brought in by Reynolds and co-owner, and fellow actor, Rob McElhenney, who bought the club in 2021.
