Tensions run high between migrants and police in Arica, Chile, on the border with Peru, where migrants blocked the road. Hundreds of migrants are stuck on the border after Chile tightened migration controls and Peru deployed the military to block undocumented migrants from entering the country. “A large majority of us are Venezuelans, but there are Haitians, Colombians, Cubans, Dominicans who just want to transit through Peru as an access route to reach our country,” says Juan Borjas, a Venezuelan migrant.
