Description
Corina Garcia receives her third dose of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, a sexually transmitted disease that spreads silently in Venezuela amidst stigma and misinformation. Also, the high cost of the vaccine makes its administration unaffordable for a large part of the Venezuelan population. Moreover, as gynaecologist Yrama Baloa points out, although the vaccine is administered by many specialists, a problem persists with the 'cold chain'. "If it does not respect the correct transfer at the right temperature, the vaccine does not work. And who guarantees this? Who verifies it? No one," says Baloa.
