Description
Fashion from the '60s will take centre stage at Glasgow's Kelvingrove Museum on Saturday, as it pulls back the curtain on an exhibition showcasing the work of fashion trailblazer Mary Quant, who died in April at the age of 93. One of Quant’s former colleagues, Heather Tilbury Phillips, says the event "is the most wonderful tribute to Mary's far sightedness, her enthusiasm, her creativity". The show also draws attention to the designer's innovative use of new materials and technologies, such as nylon, lycra, and PVC, which paved the way for new trends like stretch and waterproof fabrics.
