Description
A family from Hammanskraal, North of Pretoria is mourning the death of a relative who fell victim to a deadly cholera outbreak which has killed 15 people in recent days. They are seething with anger and blaming the government for failing to solve their perennial water woes— saying what comes out of the pipes is brown and dirty. “Everybody has a right to have clean water,” says Kagiso Sadiki, a family member of the deceased. Municipal authorities are now urging residents not to drink tap water, promising that tankers will distribute water, but residents say these only show up once or twice a week.
