Description
Biofuel maker Neste and MAN trucks in France announce a partnership producing renewable diesel for the transport industry as it seeks to transition from its current polluting fossil fuels to electric alternatives. The partnership is announced at Neste's biofuel refinery, situated on the Maasvlakte in Europe's largest port, Rotterdam. "We can decarbonise drop-in fuel by 90 percent versus fossil diesel" explains Peter Zonneveld, Neste's Vice President of renewable road transport. The switch to renewable diesel is seen as an intermediary, but important step on the journey from fossil fuels to electric. Jean-Yves Kerbrat, managing director of MAN Truck and Bus France, says "our hauliers are themselves being challenged by their shippers, who are asking them to offer "carbon-free" solutions. And so we have a responsibility to offer them solutions." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
