STOCKSHOTS from the city of Belgorod located in the eponymous region in south-west Russia, close to the Ukrainian border. The Belgorod region has often been targeted by attacks since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Memories of the "Great Patriotic War" are kept very alive in the region which in 1943 saw some of the biggest tank battles in history. Belgorod was almost totally destroyed during WWII. STOCKSHOTS
