Description
The State of Mexico is a smaller version of the country: almost 50% of its population lives in poverty and coexists with affluent areas such as the touristic Valle de Bravo or Huixquilucan. Because of the size of the electoral roll and its 16.9 million inhabitants, Sunday's gubernatorial elections are seen as the prelude to the 2024 presidential elections, but they are also a reminder that the lack of opportunities, insecurity and inequality in the State of Mexico are the same problems faced by an entire country.
