Description
Since escaping to neighbouring Hungary in the wake of Russia's invasion, Ukrainian refugee Iryna Bryk has been unable to find any schools which will accommodate her son and his special needs. "Unfortunately, we have not yet found the right institution for him," she says, with all those that are publically available being exclusively Hungarian-speaking. Bryk's family is just one of many facing the same plight, which fellow refugee Olena Andriichuk is seeking to tackle through her new AKSEN charity, offering education and services to Ukrainian children in Budapest. "The main goal of our project" she explains, "is to unite all parents and children with psychophysiological disorders and enable them to integrate in educational institutions in Europe."
