Description
Lenin Tamayo, 23, looks, sounds and moves like a K-pop singer, but he actually sings Q'pop, an adaptation of the global Korean phenomenon into the Indigenous language of the Peruvian Andes, Quechua, mixed with Spanish. Tamayo is currently the only exponent of this experiment, which he sees as a way of bringing people closer to their Andean roots and yet "engaging with global trends". IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
