Description
"We need to scale the impact because we need to change climate". At a time when the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank want to make climate protection a more integral part of the international financial architecture, the multilateral development banks have a crucial role to play, and this will be one of the subjects discussed on Thursday and Friday at a summit in Paris hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron. As the main financial supporter of Latin American countries, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) wants to move up a gear and is calling for greater "efficiency" in loans for climate projects, particularly for the Amazon, where the institution dreams of playing an "umbrella" role, says its president, Ilan Goldfajn, in an interview with AFP.
