On the Red Square in central Moscow, locals and tourists alike react to the aborted revolt of the Wagner mercenary group led by Yevgeny Prigozhin, which had threatened a day earlier to storm Moscow in a direct challenge to Russian President Vladimir Putin's rule. An agreement allowing Prigozhin to avoid treason charges and accept exile in Belarus ended the immediate threat from his private army.
