The LGBT rainbow flag was the first victim of the coming to power of the far right Vox party in Náquera. The town is now a fiefdom of the ultraconservatives in Spain who call for 'order' in the face of the 'anarchism' of the left. "We will stop this progressivism because this progressivism is total and absolute anarchism, and above all the youth, the youth have no idea where they are going" says Jesús Juan Gómez, a retired resident of the town.
