A baby heron flaps its tiny wings after hatching in a nest surrounded by plastic bottles and other debris on an island in the Gulf of Fonseca in the Central American Pacific. Filled with vibrant seabirds, Isla de los Pajaros is part of the San Lorenzo Bay Reserve in this turquoise gulf shared by Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua.
