Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen pays her respects to the fallen soldiers of a months-long Chinese bombardment of Taiwan's Kinmen Island which began on August 23, 1958. China fired hundreds of thousands of shells on the outlying island in the conflict, also known as The Second Taiwan Strait Crisis. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
