"This site is truly unique in the world. And these boats, all these wrecks, there are almost thirty of them. They're buried under millions of amphorae", enthuses David Djaoui, archaeologist and diver at the Musée Départemental Arles Antique. During the first week of this new research campaign, dubbed "On the Rhone again", the archaeologist-divers were able to pinpoint the exact location of the wrecks, mark them out and lay ropes to help divers find their way around.
