Description
Vlad the Impaler, more commonly known as Dracula, whose brutal methods of punishing his enemies gained notoriety in 15th century Europe, has become one of the most recognisable characters in pop culture. At the Forchtenstein Castle in Austria, young "vampire apprentices" are given a historical tour with lit torches to discover the true story of Vlad Tepes Draculea, and catch a glimpse of his full-length 17th century portrait painting hanging in one of the galleries of the castle. "I want to educate my children so that they experience history in a lively way," says Andrea Stupitz, a visitor to the castle. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
