Three weeks on from the flooding caused by Storm Daniel, the Greek village of Vlochos is still clogged with tonnes of mud. Debris is piled in the streets and marks left on homes indicate how high the water reached. "We were thinking about leaving and never coming back" says Dimitris Malai, a resident. Most of Vlochos' inhabitants left and those remaining are now rushing to rebuild before a new storm -- Elias -- hits the region. "All of the embankments are broken" says Malai, "the water will immediately flow in". The unprecedented Storm Daniel left 17 people dead and flooding drowned tens of thousands of farm animals.
