In the shadow of Mount Etna, Sicilian farmers are adapting to climate change by switching their production to more tropical varieties of fruit. "Before, it was only a citrus field" says Rosalbe Vitale, whose daughter Carla Cassaniti now grows mangos and bananas in Fiumefreddo di Sicilia, on the island's east coast. "I see climate change here in Sicily as an opportunity" Carla explains, adding that "by consuming a local product, we have a minor carbon footprint."
