France has been hit with an infestation of bedbugs. "Customers are scared, helpless, they don't know what to do," says David Bettach, a sanitation technician and manager of a pest control company, during a bedbug extermination session in an apartment in the 17th arrondissement. He says he has noticed "a resurgence" since the start of the school year, and estimates a 30-50% increase in the number of reports for his company compared with the same period last year.
