Several thousand people gather in the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo for a pro-Palestinian rally, with the mayor invoking the city's bloody siege during Bosnia's inter-ethnic war in the 1990s. "Sarajevo, the city that endured the longest siege in modern history, has the right to stand firmly alongside Gaza today," mayor Benjamina Karic tells the crowd in front of the city hall.
More than 4,600 Palestinians have been killed across the Gaza Strip in relentless Israeli bombardments in retaliation for attacks by the Palestinian Islamist militant group Hamas, according to the latest toll from the health ministry in Gaza.
