The Turkish navy's ships and submarines parade through the Bosphorus to celebrate the centenary of the Republic of Turkey, with residents of Istanbul gathered on the Üsküdar coast to watch the parade. "There is a general enthusiasm among the public about October 29th because we are witnessing a historic moment. Therefore we are very excited," 32-year-old graduate student Bahar Sincan tells AFP.
