The German president, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, visits the Songea region as part of a state visit to Tanzania where he asks for forgiveness for the crimes committed by Germany's soldiers during their colonial rule of Tanzania. "It shames me what German colonial soldiers did to your ancestors", he says.
