Two friends stand at a viewpoint on Mount Adir, overlooking the land where Israel ends, and Lebanon begins. They come here to enjoy the view and pray - for them, a sign that they are not afraid. On the same day four rockets fired towards the city of Kiryat Shmona near the Lebanese border, were intercepted in mid-air. It has become part of the daily life in northern Israel, where the apparent calm conceals an explosive situation on the Hezbolllah-controlled border with Lebanon. Back on Mount Adir, Naor Shimoni, a 38-year-old father of five, says if the situation deteriorates, he might send his family away, but will stay behind himself. “We don't have another place. This is Israel. We are the people of Israel - do the math,” the musician adds. He, along with his friend Yitzchak Lalush, a social worker, dart around the area on their scooters, visiting troops, playing music, and trying to bring with them “hope and love and peace”.
