Description
Drivers queue to enter the southwestern Icelandic town of Grindavik, which is at risk of being wiped out by a volcano, to retrieve and check on their belongings.
"It's terrible to see. This is the town I was born in and raised," says Eythor Reynisson, while waiting for permission to go check on his boat in the village's harbour.
The southwestern town of Grindavik -- home to around 4,000 people -- was evacuated in the early hours of November 11 after magma shifting under the Earth's crust caused hundreds of earthquakes in what experts warned could be a precursor to a volcanic eruption. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
