Former Minister of the Budget at the Ministry of the Economy and Finance Jérôme Cahuzac who served under former President François Hollande from 2012 to 2013 was convicted of tax fraud in 2016. He now makes his return, admitting his "immorality" in a first public speech in a commune in the Lot-et-Garonne region of southern France. At the town's market, some locals are not convinced by his approach: "When you're carrying baggage like him, you keep to yourself and stay at home", says Claude Gripon, a resident of Villeneuve-sur-Lot.
