Description
"Candidate number 3, Rajoelina Andry Nirina, obtained 2,856,090 votes, i.e. 58.95%," announces the chairman for Madagascar's Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), confirming the outgoing president's victory in the first round of a presidential ballot boycotted by nearly all opposition candidates in the Indian Ocean island nation. "As a citizen, we already knew that Andry Rajoelina was going to be re-elected, so life goes on for us, nothing changes," says Voahirana Ravaoharisoa.
Siteny Randrianasoloniaiko came second with 14.40%, followed by former president Marc Ravalomanana with 12.10%. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
