Google cuts the ribbon to open its new 'Google Safety Engineering Center' (GESC) in Malaga, southern Spain. The centre, which is Google's biggest cybersecurity facility, is part of an initiative bringing together European policymakers, academic institutions and businesses to tackle digital threats and cultivate the expansion of safety skills. The centre is "designed to be a hub for all of Europe" says Kent Walker, Google's President of Global Affairs, who explains that it used "as a base to train new generations of cybersecurity experts".
