At the annual competition for nativity scenes, a tradition that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2018, the residents of Krakow in Poland present their colourful handmade creations, which are not lacking in political touches. The war in Ukraine, the Polish parliamentary elections and the climate are all subjects that feature in this year's cardboard and coloured paper towers made by artists of all generations.
