Description
Cerro Dominador is the first concentrated solar power plant in Latin America and the fourth in the world. Inaugurated in 2021 in Chile's Atacama Desert some 170 kilometers from Antofagasta, Cerro Dominador features a 240-meter tower surrounded by 10,600 "mirrors" or heliostats that reflect the sun onto the top of the tower, where the heat is transferred to molten salts. The plant is owned by EIG Global Energy Partners. STOCKSHOTS
