Description
Huge surf is battering the US West Coast with forecasters warning of more danger, as a powerful storm capped a year of wild -- and often wet -- weather for the region.
But surfers are descending to the famous Mavericks Beach in Half Moon Bay, California to ride out the storm.
"Definitely a little scarier being in the cold, deep water way out offshore. But there's a lot of fun, a lot of adrenaline," surfer Ben Spalding says. "It's a pretty dangerous wave. So I took that like a chip on my shoulder, you know, be very alert." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
