Description
Heavily armed soldiers keep watch on South Korea's remote border island of Yeonpyeong in the early hours of the day. Beaches on the picturesque island, which is just three kilometres from North Korean territory, were locked up at dusk.
Pyongyang has conducted live-fire artillery drills for three days near Yeonpyeong and another border island, Seoul's military said, prompting counter-drills, heightened security, and evacuation orders for residents. IMAGES
