Senegal's President Macky Sall inaugurates a network of 100% electric buses in Dakar, designed to transform public transport and reduce emissions in the West African nation’s traffic jammed capital. The Bus Rapid Transport (BRT), which cost around 420 billion CFA francs (640 million euros) and received financial support from the World Bank and the UN, aims to carry 300,000 passengers a day and halve journey times via a system of buses running on dedicated lanes.
