Description
French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin brushes off accusations he made it possible for PSG to avoid record taxation when the Parisian football club acquired Brazilian star Neymar in 2017. Prompted for comment on revelations published by investigative news media Mediapart, Darmanin who was Budget Minister at the time, passed over replying directly to the question, stating he was "very happy that football and rugby players come to our country, and in fact a lot of them pay taxes". PSG paid 222 Million euros in 2017 to get La Liga champion over to France in what it still today the most expensive football transfer ever. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
