Description
A touring pop-up exhibition on British-Jewish identity opens in London ahead of Holocaust Memorial Day 2024, marked on January 27, with interactive displays that tackle antisemitic stereotypes. Planning for the exhibition pre-dates the unprecedented Hamas attacks in Israel on 7 October 2023. However, the National Holocaust Museum’s chief academic advisor, Maiken Umbach, says "our mission has become even more urgent", with the Hamas attacks "becoming an excuse" for anti-Jewish sentiment "to be voiced more publicly." The exhibition's London stint ends on 20 January and will open in Manchester on 23 January. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
