Two days before the national tribute to the French victims of Hamas on 7th October, left-wing members of parliament are defending the presence of the France Unbowed party at the ceremony of leaders, whose attendance has been refused by some of the victims' families. France Unbowed MP Alexis Corbière is hammering home the point that "the Minister for Relations with Parliament has reiterated that all groups, including France Unbowed, are invited". "These victims deserve the widest possible tribute", says Green party MP Sandrine Rousseau. "No one should use this moment of remembrance as a political tool", added another Green party MP, Benjamin Lucas, while a Renaissance MP, Mathieu Lefèvre, denounced the "cynical" position of France Unbowed.
