"Nicaragua is a new tropicalized North Korea," says Felix Maradiaga, who in 2021 was a presidential candidate in Nicaragua, before he was imprisoned by the government of Daniel Ortega for 611 days. Stripped of nationality, he was deported to the United States along with over 200 other opponents.
